Wise Guys Workshop

Objective

An interactive workshop experiment designed to encourage introspection in Grade 9 and 10 guys. They will be asked to evaluate (as a focus group) the 4 pillars of this workshop which were created to examine and address negative choices. The four segments are:

PRISONS...the ones you build yourself.
Some of us put up walls and boundaries that imprison us by not allowing us to live our lives to the fullest potential. Sometimes, we can buy into the label that we've been given:

  • You are not good enough to succeed
  • You are not cool enough to be with a beautiful girl
  • You are not big enough to be a man
In addition, fear is a huge barrier in the way of our future. What we do about our fear today will determine where we are tomorrow. Fear will imprison all of us unless we face it. Challenging our fear creates greater opportunity for success by breaking down the walls.

The Common Denominator - We're all in this together.
Every guy in the room has many things in common - gender, age, town/province/country, school, problems, interests...etc. While it may feel like we're different ... we're really not. Getting along with one another wins the everyday battles we face. Life isn't perfect, and fighting with each other doesn't make things better. Working together will increase odds.

The Strategic Thinker - Adversity equals results.
If you do well at this - you win big...sometimes more than can imagine! The only person who stands in the way of your dreams is yourself. Rollover and accept defeat or push back and give it everything you have.

The Future - A Guarantee.
Stay determined and outwork the guy next to you! If you have to think anyway...Think HUGE!

FEEDBACK

The feedback I had from the students I saw was very positive. The Grade 10 boys enjoyed it and thought Brad was "cool." Some remarks were, "really got a lot out of it", "gave me a lot to think about." Overall it was a positive experience for many of our students and I thank you again.
